Editor's Verdict:

LocalDatingAction.com boasts that it provides one of the best chances of successfully hooking-up for dating and more with someone in your local area. In reality, we aren't convinced that this is the case. The limited user base (the exact size of this we were unable to determine), is significantly smaller than many other sites we reviewed for this category, and of course, worlds behind our top-rated adult dating site, AdultFriendFinder.com. This means the chances of actually managing to arrange a real meet-up with someone in your area are slim.

As with other adult dating sites, the communicative functions on LocalDatingAction are excellent, featuring Instant Messaging, email and private messaging. The site also advertises video chat, although this is disappointing as users expecting to be able to actually communicate with those using the chat function will find this is not the case. The chat is not active, and "shows" are just prerecorded videos that are viewable by premium users. The search function on the site is extensive and allows users to search other user profiles by a variety of fields, though (and this seems to be a common problem amongst "local" dating sites) there is an absence of a ZIP Code search field on the site - this would be useful to search for users specifically in your locality.

Basic members of LocalDatingAction have few options as they cannot search for members on the site, though they can view a limited number of summary (i.e. not including all of the information) profiles that are generated by the browse function. In order to actually use the site properly, it is therefore necessary to upgrade to a premium membership option. This is particularly expensive, at $59.95 for the cheapest 3 month plan. It is also disappointing that the site does not offer longer membership durations with greater discounts as these would be far better value for money.

Considering the cost to join our top-rated adult dating site, Adult FriendFinder (which is considerably less than the fee for LocalDatingAction) and its vast membership of more than 20 million profiles, we would suggest that users thinking about joining a site like this should consider a larger site, where realistically, there is likely to be a greater number of local members. As dating online is largely a numbers game, opting for a larger site (which is often better value for money, too) will no doubt increase your chances of success!
