Editor's Verdict:
SparkPeople.com is the only premium, personalized weight loss and healthy living website that is completely free of charge. Business Week recently named SparkPeople.com "Best of the Web" in the health category, above Yahoo! Health, WebMD, MayoClinic.com and more.
Like our top ranked sites (Diet.com, eDiets.com, DietWatch.com, JillianMichaels.com, DeniseAustin.com) SparkPeople.com has lots of excellent diet and exercise features. It also has a vast on-line community with over one million members. However, we have marked it down because is has no no toll free call service, no high profile experts to respond to individual queries and last, but not least, there is no extra incentive to stick to the programme because it is free of charge. Let's face it, paying for a service encourages us to avail of that service. A free service is great if you're one of those rare breed of people who don't need much motivation or inspiration to reach your weight loss goals. But for most of us, a little financial incentive and an inspiring mentor that empowers us to achieve our goals can make all the difference.
So we recommend that you go ahead and join SparkPeople.com (for free) to have full access to its databank of useful resources. Their hundreds of articles definitely provide useful background reading...
...but if you're serious about losing weight and getting fit, you should also think about becoming a paid member of one of our top ranking sites (Diet.com, eDiets.com, DietWatch.com, JillianMichaels.com, DeniseAustin.com) . The motivation & inspiration they'll give you are well worth the small weekly fee!
